What can go wrong, in plain words.
FlowTrade is built to keep losses inside limits you set. Limits help; they don’t make trading safe. Read this before you decide anything, and only use money you can afford to lose.
Trading can lose money
FlowTrade trades perpetual futures: bets that a price goes up or down, usually with leverage, which makes gains and losses larger than the money set aside for a trade. Many trades lose. A run of losing trades can last days. FlowTrade can lose money in any hour, on any day, in any month.
What your limits do, and what they don’t
- The exit if wrong is a price, not a guarantee. In a fast or thin market, the price can jump past it, and the trade closes at the next price available, which can be worse.
- The daily limit stops new trades once the day’s losses reach it. One trade that closes badly can take the day past the limit.
- The floor stops new trades; it can’t undo a loss already taken.
- Leverage can lead to liquidation by the exchange if a price moves far enough before an exit fills.
The exchange
Your money and your trades live on Hyperliquid. FlowTrade does not run Hyperliquid and cannot control it. An exchange can slow down, halt trading, change its rules or fees, be attacked, or fail, and money held there can be delayed or lost.
USDC and the networks
FlowTrade uses USDC, a stablecoin, sent on the Arbitrum One network. A stablecoin can lose its link to the dollar. A network can be congested or fail. Money sent to a wrong address, on a wrong network, or to Hyperliquid’s own deposit address instead of your FlowTrade wallet can be lost for good.
The software and your Mac
FlowTrade is software, and software has faults. It is built with checks that don’t trust each other, a safety guard that restarts what stops, and a record of every step, but a fault can still cause a missed trade, a late exit or a wrong order. While your Mac is off, asleep or offline, no new trade starts; open trades keep only the exits already on the exchange. Keep your Mac, its password and its Keychain safe: whoever controls your Mac can use what is on it.
AI assistants
An AI assistant can be wrong, sound sure when it isn’t, or misread a market. FlowTrade limits what any agent can do, but an idea you accept is still your decision.
Tests and examples are not promises
Rule Check replays a rule on past prices; the future will be different. The demo and every example on this site use made-up numbers to show how FlowTrade behaves. None of it says what FlowTrade will earn, and we will never tell you it can make you money.
The law where you live, and taxes
Rules on crypto and on futures differ by country and province, and can change. Some places restrict them or forbid them. You are responsible for following the rules where you live and for any taxes on your results.
Not advice
FlowTrade doesn’t know your finances, your goals or your tolerance for loss, and nothing on this site or in the app is investment, legal or tax advice. If you are unsure, talk to a qualified adviser first.
